2N5400 is a PNP general-purpose amplifier. This amplifier is intended to be used as general-purpose amplifiers and switches that require high voltages. The ratings are the maximum thresholds that limit the usability of any device made of semiconductors that could be compromised. The ratings are based upon the maximum junction temperature of 150 ° C. This is a limit for steady-state operation.
