For protection, PTC thermistors are packaged in 0805 (2012 Metric) packages. Packaged in the Tape & Reel (TR), these PTC thermistors are safe to handle. PTC thermometers have 2 terminations. If the thermistor can't transfer and conduct this power loss without overheating, it'll overheat. It was determined that PTC thermistors produced 0.1W of heat.
