It is important to protect PTC thermistors from damage by placing them in Radial packages. 2 is the termination of the PTC thermistor. These thermistors have 2 pins. Temperatures below 135°C are the maximum allowed for thermistors. The thermistor should function only when the temperature is above -40°C.
