BPW21R Overview
A Bulk package protects these photodiodes from damage. In order to ensure their safety, the photodiodes are packaged into Radial, Lensed Metal Can, 2 Lead packages. A photodiode can withstand a maximum voltage of 10V when operating in reverse-bias mode continuously. Reverse-bias photodiodes should not be operated above 10V permanently. A photodiode is equipped with 2 pins. A circuit made up of photodiodes could release heat 300mW. While operating photodiodes, the temperature should not exceed 125°C. However, the minimum operating temperature for the photodiodes should be set at -40°C. It is recommended that the reverse anode voltage on the photodiodes be 10V. It is generally recommended that the maximum heat released by photodiodes should be 300mW in a circuit. If the reverse voltage is set to 10V, the photodiodes can work effectively. When current flows across a photodiode, it needs voltage 1.3V. Make sure photodiodes work with 10V breakdown voltage. Without light input, a photodiode will produce 2nA current.
