Adjustable LM117 PMIC 2 TO-204AA, TO-3
LM117K Description
The LM117K is a 3-terminal Adjustable Regulator with a 1.25V to 37V output range and a wide temperature range that can produce more than 1.5A. The output voltage is set with only two external resistors, making this regulator extremely simple to use. Full overload protection is provided by the LM117, including current limit, thermal overload protection, and safe area protection. Even if the adjustment terminal is unplugged, the overload protection circuitry remains completely functioning. Unless the device is more than 6 inches from the input filter capacitors, in which case an input bypass is required, no capacitors are usually required. To improve transient response, an output capacitor can be added as an alternative. Because the regulator simply senses the input-to-output differential voltage, it may regulate voltages up to several hundred volts as long as the maximum input-to-output differential is not exceeded.
