Protecting the mechanical temperature sensors is achieved by putting them in TO-205AA, TO-5-3 Metal Can packages. There is a minimum operating temperature of 40°C that must be met by this electronic part for it to function properly. Temperature sensors with mechanical components can, however, reach 120°C. The maximum current that a mechanical temperature sensor can carry for an indefinite period of time is 1A. The sensor has a pin count of 3. The maximum voltage that mechanical temperature sensors can produce in an AC circuit is 28V. It should be possible for a mechanical temperature sensor to operate at a maximum load current of 1A. Temperature sensors with mechanical sensing can reach 28V in a DC circuit.
